Ask Our Politicians If #itmatters To Them
Find out if your local candidates will act to provide mental health and addiction services when, and where, we need them. If they haven't made a commitment then send them a message and ask how much they think #itmatters.
You can also find out how well our experts thought each party did on their mental health and addictions policy by clicking on the party. Star ratings were given based on 1) increased investment in mental health and addictions supports with a focus on providing support to people earlier 2) new ways to make sure the money for mental health and addictions support reaches the people it is designated for with fewer barriers and 3) commitment to an investment plan across all of government and non-government mental health and addictions services. These criteria were chosen because they would be a good start for making sure more support is available and that services are sustainable.

I have firsthand experience of the toll depression can take on families, so I appreciate the difference good support can make to individuals and their loved ones. I have also worked as a volunteer buddy for people recovering from mental health problems and I’ve seen how it can help. More funding to employ more support workers and improve access will make a huge difference.
Bale Nadakuitavuki
Mental health has some negative connotations to it that we as a party take no steps backwards towards in finding a solution. We confront the issue by looking at workshops within communities to bring an understanding of what types of mental health there is out there as we believe education is the best way to combat the negative stereotypes around this issues.
